In August 1998, Batch '78 was organizing the Grand Reunion of All UP High Graduates in L.A. They only knew a handful of batchmates who were based in the USA, so this inspired me to put up Batch '81's Email Directory.
With the help of our enthusiastic and cooperative batchmates, we were able to update around 300+ addressess and telephone nos., and gather 100+ email addresses. While communication with every batchmate on-line was in progress, 9 of us became regular emailers. We would write one another regularly, talk about everything from current events, to relationships, social issues, high school fun, all the way down to memory lane in UP Elem.
We call ourselves the EMAIL PALS CLUB... THE EMPS (Email Pals CLub - Rolly Perez, Leloy-Santos Cuyugan, Jun Lingao, Lovel Untalan, Bobbit Casareo, Babs Barcelo Harcketts, Christine Alcoba Reyes, Al Yap and I), took it upon ourselves to coordinate the Batch 81's 20th Anniversary Reunion in 2001.
We shall call it : Batch 81@20 . . . Bobong Lacanilao-Cutiongco
